MEET THE TEAM

Prim Design Co formed organically by two friends, Lara McDonald and Whitney Miller. The pair met in 2016 when their daughters were in preschool. They quickly bonded over a mutual love of bold, colorful and eclectic design (and their fashionable daughters).

  • Lara

    After a successful career in sales, Lara has transitioned into owning her own event rental and design company, where she honed her ability to craft memorable experiences through innovative design solutions. 

    Over the last 12 years, she's evolved from designing events to specializing in vibrant, high-end interior design, curating spaces that exude luxury, personality, and bold style. She is driven by a deep passion for transforming environments with dynamic, sophisticated aesthetics, and her attention to detail ensures that every space feels uniquely tailored to the client’s vision.

    Whether it’s for a private residence, a corporate space, or a special project, she approaches each interior design with the same dedication to quality, innovation, and timeless beauty.

  • Whitney

    Whitney is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. After 18 years in the Valley of the Sun, she wanted to see if everything truly was bigger in Texas. She graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in biology and later, Arizona State University with a degree in Nursing. She spent 12 years as a Registered Nurse but has been a design lover since birth.

    In 2020, she found the space to apply her inherent magic to create Prim Design Co. Whitney lives in Phoenix with her husband Jeff and their 3 children. Outside of PDC, Whitney enjoys reading, yoga and pretending to be a chef. Design favorites: all the colors, animal print and something quirky in every room to keep people talking.
